Saint Peter's Parish Church

As a Catholic school, religious education is an integral part of the school day. Our aim is to present Christianity as a loving, caring way of life and to bring the children to an awareness of the happiness of a life spent in following Christ’s example of love and respect for God and for all creation.

Fr. McBride (Parish Priest of St Peter’s Partick) makes visit to the school, visiting classes and conducting services in St Peter’s Church across the school session for feast days and liturgical celebrations.  Each Friday one class attends 10 o’clock mass in St Peter’s Church.  In school we have prayer assemblies for the whole school (2 each month) which are led by a different class on each occasion.

As a Catholic school we welcome all children as members of our school community.  Parents have the right to withdraw their child from religious observance and should inform the school in writing.

The school will also assist the children in the preparation for the following sacraments:

  • First Penance (First Confession) - P3 (During Lent)
  • First Holy Communion - P4
  • Confirmation - P7
